Spagna — overview

Spagna station — Rome underground

Spagna is the stop for Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish Steps. The main exit is on vicolo del Bottino, a short lane leading straight into the square. Work in the historic centre, including this station, began in 1970 — six years after the first Line A worksites opened — and the stop entered service on 16 February 1980. Villa Borghese is also reached from here.
