Pigneto is the stop for one of the most written-about districts in Rome: the Pasolini borgata of Accattone, now an area of bars, bookshops and nightlife around the street of the same name. The station entered service on 29 June 2015 and is also designed as a future interchange with Roma Pigneto railway station on the FL suburban network.
