Porta Metronia — overview

Porta Metronia is one of the two stations brought into service on 16 December 2025 with the opening of Line C's central section. Back in 2012 Italy's economic planning committee released €792 million to build the T3 section between San Giovanni and Colosseo: this stop is one of the results. It serves the piazzale Metronio area, between the Aurelian Walls and the Caelian Hill, with the military hospital and the basilica of Santi Giovanni e Paolo close by.
