Cornelia — overview

Cornelia station — Rome underground

Cornelia holds a record: at around 50 metres below street level it is the deepest station on the Rome metro. Allow a few extra minutes to get up and down, especially if one of the escalators is out. It opened on 1 January 2000 with the extension from Valle Aurelia to Battistini; in the original plans it was to be called Aurelia-Cornelia.
