Laurentina Station
Lines B / B1 · Rome Metro
Laurentina — overview

Laurentina is the southern terminus of Line B and one of the busiest interchanges in the southern quadrant: buses for Pomezia, Ardea and the coast leave from here, and there is a large car park. Its origins are unusual: in the 1930s the site was designed as a freight yard for the metro railway built for the 1942 World's Fair, which never took place. After the war the freight plan was dropped and the site became a passenger station, opened on 9 February 1955 with the line's first section.
