EUR Palasport — overview

EUR Palasport station — Rome underground

EUR Palasport began life as Esposizione Ovest on 9 February 1955 — at the design stage it was even labelled "Esposizione discesa". Like its twin EUR Fermi, it lies below viale America with the tracks in the middle. Its present name comes from the Palazzo dello Sport by Nervi and Piacentini, built for the 1960 Olympics and still a venue for concerts and matches.
